Writing is very important in our everyday lives. A life without writers is like a life without water. If we didn’t have writers then we wouldn’t have TV, movies, or plays. We also wouldn’t be able to write or read poems, books, or stories. We wouldn’t have school because teachers wouldn’t know about history, grammar, and science. Teachers wouldn’t know what to teach us because nothing would be written down. We also wouldn’t know what some words mean because it wouldn’t be written down in a dictionary.
I have chosen my fiction piece. I picked my fiction piece because I think I did really well on this piece. I have many details for the setting and characters actions. Also I am very proud of how I wrote this piece and what I wrote in it.
In fiction story you have to use and know many skills. You have to create the characters internal and external traits. Also you have to create the way that your character moves. Another skill that you have to do is have a very detailed setting. Also you have to create story maps. You also have to create a wonderful introduction and an excellent conclusion.
There are many things to do when you have a story map. First you have to generate the character’s hopes, wants, and/ or desires. Then you have to create an obstacle to stand in the way of the main character or characters. After that you have to build the story problem by problem which is the events. Next you have to create a climax. A climax is where the problems in a story can not get any worse but is also the turning point of the story. Then you have to create a resolution that wraps up your story.
I think that I have improved a lot as a writer. I think I improved as a writer because I used to not use as much of a sentence variety as I do now. Also I didn’t use as much details as I do in this piece. I think that I did very well on conversation. I think that I could improve more on determining when to start a new paragraph. I also could use more improvement on word variety.

Amiee walked back out her room and into her Aunts room and asked, “Does the doctor know how bad mom’s cancer is?”
“He probably does,” her Aunt answered.
Amiee walked out of her Aunt’s room and walked back into her room. As she walked into her room, she noticed that the internet was still up on her computer and she never closed it. Amiee ran over to it and sat down on her computer chair. She then started to read more about cancer. Reading more about cancer, Amiee couldn’t take it, it was too sad. She immediately closed the internet and shut her laptop. She then walked out of her room to eat dinner.
She made dinner for her whole family, herself, her Aunt, and Tyler. She made home-made macaroni and cheese.
“Aunt Claire, Tyler, I made dinner for us!” Amiee yelled as she got bowls out.
“Ok,” Tyler yelled back as he ran down the stairs.
After they finished eating dinner, Amiee cleaned her plate and started up stares.
She then got ready for bed. She was super excited for tomorrow. It was going to be her first babysitting day. Her Aunt is going to go with her for the first few times because she might need some help but once she learns their routine, her Aunt would stop going with her. Amiee got up the next day excitedly, but sad at the same time because it was six in the morning and she needed to wait until five in the afternoon to go and baby sit.
Amiee finished the school day and was excited to get home. She thought to herself, “Only a few more hours until I start!” Walking in the door, Amiee realized that she had homework so she ran up stares to get it done. Once she finished she only had one hour until she had to go. She then went looking for her Aunt.
“Aunt Claire, are you coming with me today?” Amiee asked.
“Yes. You might need help today and tomorrow but on Wednesday I’m not coming to help,” her Aunt Claire answered.
“Ok, good!” Amiee exclaimed.
Amiee didn’t know what she could do for an hour. She walked around her house for a while. Then she watched TV for twenty minutes. After that it was thirty more minutes to go. She was very excited. Amiee rant around the house saying, “It’s almost time, it’s almost time!” She yelled that for a while. After her voice got tired of yelling she only has three and a half minutes left. She knew that because she was counting. Finally it was time to leave.
“Aunt Claire let’s go!” Amiee yelled as she ran out the door joyfully.
“I’m coming, I’m coming!” her Aunt yelled back as she ran down the stairs trying to catch up to Amiee.
Amiee ran up their long path and knocked on the door. Knock Knock Knock
“Hello,” Mrs. Flargar said as she opened the door.
“Hi. I’m here to baby sit,” Amiee said excitedly.
“My, you sound excited,” Mrs. Flargar said.
“I am! Is it ok if my Aunt helps me today?” Amiee asked as she peeked inside the door.
“Yes, that’s fine,” Mrs. Flargar answered as she opened the door more. “Come in and sit down.
“Ok,” Amiee and her Aunt said as they walked in and took a seat.
“I have a chart on what you should do for the kids. It says what to feed them and when to feed them and when you should have them take a nap,” Mrs. Flargar said.
“Ok. Does it say how much to feed them?” Amiee asked.
“Yes,” Mrs. Flargar answered.
“Ok, good,” Amiee answered.
Mrs. Flargar handed Amiee a paper. Amiee then opened it and looked at it. “Thanks,” Amiee said as she folded the paper.
“You’re welcome,” Mrs. Flargar responded. “I’m going to go to work now.”
“Ok. Bye-bye,” Amiee and her Aunt Claire said as they waved to Mrs. Flargar.
Once Mrs. Flargar had left, Amiee and her Aunt started by playing with the kids.
They let them play with baby toys. Devyn was playing with a rattle; Shawnn and Christine were playing with dolls. They were giggling and holding the baby dolls as if they were real babies. Amiee thought that they were so cute.
While the clock turned to 5:30 Amiee’s Aunt Claire said, “Amiee, it’s time to make them dinner.”
“Ok. What are we making for them?” Amiee asked as she got up.
“They are going to have chicken nuggets, but we need to cut them up into small pieces,” her Aunt answered.
“Oh. Ok,” Amiee responded as she walked towards the kitchen.
Amiee and her Aunt made the chicken nuggets and cut them into small pieces. After they were cut up, Amiee and her Aunt gave Devyn, Shawnn, and Christine the chicken nuggets. Amiee and her Aunt had to help Devyn because she was too little.
After they were done eating Amiee and her Aunt put the kids to bed to take a nap. They slept for about one hour each. While they were sleeping Amiee and her Aunt Claire were cleaning up the kids toys.
When the kids got up her Aunt Claire got them and put Shawnn, Devyn, and Christine down stars to play. Now it was 7:00. The paper that Mrs. Flargar gave Amiee said to play with them for a half an hour then put them to bed. Amiee and her Aunt were playing with the kids, they started put playing house then they ended up playing with cars. Now it was 7:30.
“Amiee it’s 7:20, we need to get them ready for bed now,” her aunt Claire said.
“Ok. I’ll carry Devyn up stares,” Amiee responded.
“Ok. I’ll take Christine and Shawnn up stars,” her Aunt said.
